Job Description

Visa U.S.A. Inc., a Visa Inc. company, needs a Product Manager with Data Science skills/experience in Foster City, CA to:

  • Work within a team that develops machine learning models and Generative AI products. Assist in exploratory data analysis (EDA), model/product tuning and monitoring.
  • Own and maintain Tableau based dashboards that use SQL to collect data from an internal data warehouse. Develop visualizations to make your complex analyses accessible to a broad audience. 
  • Find opportunities to create new data products out of analyses 
  • Own and run monitoring programs for assessing issuer and acquirer data quality using SQL and Python.
  • Provide ad-hoc data analysis support for Visa account management, business development and other internal teams.
  • Generate business insights based on data, identify actionable recommendations and communicate the findings to clients. 
  • Find innovative ways to use our unique data to answer business problems. 
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging Visa data to drive business solutions. 
  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product, marketing techniques and business strategies for Visa and its clients. 

This is a hybrid position that reports to the Foster City, CA office. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualification:

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Employer also will accept a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in  Computer Science, Engineering or related field followed by 10 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate  experience in the job offered or in a data scientist or software engineer-related occupation.
  • Software development with one programming language
  • Machine Learning experience – including performing Exploratory Data Analysis
  • Current experience in using SQL for extracting and aggregating data
  • Current experience in using Python
  • Experience with creating shared dashboards using Tableau or equivalent tools

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 132,300.00 to 191,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
