Position Overview
The Principal Product Manager, Scientific Data Platform is responsible for the delivery of data products that power scientific analytics and AI initiatives across the enterprise through the Scientific Data Platform (SDP). This position collaborates with internal customers across the Science Office, Business Units, Exact Sciences Laboratories and other internal customers to understand their data needs for current and upcoming analytics and AI projects that require genetic, genomic, biologic, pathologic and clinical data. This role maintains the SDP roadmap, and is responsible for translating the roadmap into prioritized features and data sets to be delivered on SDP, and for the delivery of these datasets and features in partnership with the data engineering teams in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Data Management and Software (BBDS) and / or IT.
In fulfillment of these responsibilities, the Principal Product Manager, Scientific Data Platform, will demonstrate and maintain technical leadership in organizing internal data (data FAIRification, data privacy, data governance), in the linking internal data with external, real-world data sources (tokenization, identified data retrieval), and in the use of AI technologies for data enrichment (extracting structured features from semi-structured and unstructured source data).
This role is highly matrixed, and interacts with leaders across BBDS, the Science Office, and Exact Sciences. Additionally, they will partner with BDDS, IT and key technology partners (Databricks, Datavant, Real-world Data partners).
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Identify needs and opportunities for data products on SDP across the Science Office and the enterprise.
- Translate needs assessments into requirements for data products to be delivered on SDP.
- Maintain SDP roadmap and backlog for the delivery of data products / increase momentum of the SDP flywheel.
- Accountable for delivery of data products on SDP in partnership with BBDS and IT partners
- Set processes and standards for the collection, curation, structuring and storage of multimodal genomic, biologic, pathologic, clinical, and other scientific-data modalities.
- Develop annual plans, budgets and OKRs for the Scientific Data Platform.
- Accountable for SDP annual OKRs. Lead execution, and track and reports progress against OKRs.
- Institute Agile working processes to deliver data products on SDP
- Partner with internal SDP customers across BBDS, Science Office, and beyond to develop and align SDP roadmap
- Partner with BBDS, IT and other partner functions on SDP roadmap delivery
- Partner with Regulatory, CISO, Data Management, Data Privacy and other key functions to maintain SDP compliance.
- Prepare executive level presentations and documentation on strategy, status and plans for the SDP.
- Evaluate new technologies, platforms and data standards to solve immediate and long-term platform needs.

Minimum Qualifications
- MS/PhD in Informatics, Computer Sciences, or a field related to the essential duties of the job.
- 8+ years of experience in Data Science, growing responsibility and complexity of role and deliverables over time.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Science specific to scientific health data (genomic, genetic, clinical, imaging data).
- 2+ years of experience working in Agile teams.
- Demonstrated extensive experience with Databricks platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with AWS cloud platforms
- Demonstrated experience in Data Architecture Design
- Demonstrated experience with Machine Learning and predictive analytics
- Demonstrated experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience with building ETL and data processing pipelines
- Demonstrated experience with one or more real-world data linking technology (tokenization, identified data linking)
- Demonstrated relevant experience with high-dimensional analytical and clinical data management, processing, and integration
- Demonstrated success in cross functional collaboration across multidisciplinary functions.
- Professional working knowledge in project delivery to client satisfaction with quality, on time, and on budget.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Data Science, growing responsibility and complexity of role and deliverables over time.
- 5+ years of experience in medical diagnostics and devices
- 5+ years of experience working in a regulated environment (SOX, HIPAA, CLIA, GCP, FDA, ISO-13485, and/or IEC-62304).
- Experience with AI methods and concepts such as LLMs, CNN, GAN, Deep Learning, or similar
- Experience with data science tools, e.g., MLFlow, TensorFlow, PyTorch
- Experience with Confluence, Miro or similar
- Experience with analytics tools for scientific data
- Life sciences or diagnostic lab experience
- Experience in building data platforms
- Experience with FAIRification of clinical, genetic, molecular and imaging data

Salary Range:
$152,000.00 - $242,000.00The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
