Principal Data Scientist - Oracle Labs

Location: Zurich (hybrid)

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic AI lead to join our efforts at the intersections of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (leveraging LLMs & AI Agents) and scalable Enterprise applications. This role demands both technical depth and strong communication skills to guide and mentor teams, while engaging effectively with key stakeholders.

Required skills

  • MSc degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of hands-on software development in data science, machine learning, or AI, with proven expertise in coding and system design. 
  • Demonstrated work in Generative AI and AI Agents is an important plus.
  • Experience using deep learning toolkits in Python like Tensorflow, Torch, or Keras
  • Experience in formulating analytical problems into actionable research and applying advanced machine learning techniques for problem solving
  • Working proficiency in verbal and written English
  • Ability to articulate complex technical topics clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • A drive to solve hard problems at scale
  • Thorough understanding of CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms and complexity analysis 

Preferred Skills

  • PhD degree in Computer Science or Machine Learning or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Distinguished problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management capabilities to align technical objectives with business goals.
  • Deep comprehension of the importance of teamwork and demonstrated ability to work with and guide collaborative, high-performing teams.
  • Experience with Cloud platforms like OCI, AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
