Data & Statistical Sciences is a department of over 1,000 data scientists working across multiple therapeutic areas to bring Roche molecules to patients. The Opportunity:
As a member of Data Science Acceleration, you will work on projects that amplify the impact of data scientists, working on tooling across modern data science languages like R and Python to build tools that unlock patient data and streamline meaningful insights.
Work on software products to revolutionize the way our Data Scientists generate actionable and novel insights
Contribute to open source R packages and Python libraries that form part of our data science stack
Responsible for supporting the strategic, technical and business direction of our Data Sciences software products
Review opportunities to simplify, innovate and collaborate with experts within and outside of the Data Sciences organization to create efficiencies in clinical trial data collection, data storage, data processing, and data analysis
Required skills include advanced programming capability in Python, familiarity of modern version control tools, software development tools like CICD and open-source principles
Highly preferred skills include knowledge of R, Rshiny, javascript, container, AWS services like S3 and SQL/NoSQL databases.
Have a passion for the continual evolution of data science, and be a pragmatic subject matter expert able to assess the wide ecosystem of tools relevant to data science, from AWS through to snakemake, and be able to design, run and productionize efforts to help improve our path to insights.
Who you are:
College/University degree – bachelor degree or higher or equivalent education in computer science, data science or relevant technical field.
5 or more years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $145,000-$269,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
