Telecommuting role to be performed anywhere in the U.S.
What You Will Do:
- Lead strategic AI and ML initiatives by coordinating and planning complex projects.
- Write open-source software that uses statistical models to predict system metrics that are used to optimize system performance.
- Write open-source software used for storing, retrieving and manipulating system data for analysis.
- Write open-source software that uses AI and ML technologies to solve engineering problems and develop models ensuring that the software features within an application are aligned well with the users.
- Research, innovate, evaluate and develop cutting-edge machine learning models and algorithms with unstructured and structured data. Build end to end ML pipelines using container technology and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Update existing software to run on containers so it is compatible with a wider range of hardware.
- Write testing and validation procedures to ensure the features within an application are working accurately and the software is aligned with the needs of the end user.
- Coordinate and work with internal and external teams, communities and stakeholders to identify and analyze best practice solutions in a peer-reviewed environment.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and demos that explain the project work completed and promote the work with key stakeholders.
- Leverage data and analytical tools to support internal and external teams and their application requirements. Mentor and coach junior engineering staff.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
- Must have three (3) years of experience with: Container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes; Machine Learning technologies and techniques; developing and deploying Machine Learning models; using open-source ML frameworks and packages; and developing and using Data Visualization tools and Jupyter notebooks.
- Must have three (3) years of programming experience with Python and SQL.
- Must have two (2) years of experience with: unit testing frameworks and methodologies; and cloud-based infrastructures.
- Must have one (1) year of experience with: using version control tools; and leading cross functional data science related team projects by creating project requirements as related to the AI/ML objectives pertaining to developing models, applying models, analyzing effectiveness of the models and integrating the models into operational systems, assigning and coordinating project related tasks to team members and communicating status and results to stakeholders.
- Must have six (6) months of experience with neural networks.

The salary range for this position is $150,960 - $248,980. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
