A Research Fellow position is now available in the bIomedical Knowledge Empowered AI lab (bio-IKEA) in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics under the mentorship of Dr. Nansu Zong. The position will be supervised by Dr. Zong who is specialized in 1) computational drug repurposing, and 2) deep learning-based predictive models. The role will utilize the state-of-the-art Large Language Models (LLMs), Reinforcement Learning (RL), and diverse deep learning models to build predictive models in the area of drug repurposing and precision medicine. Large-scaled biomedical datasets (e.g., knowledge graphs) and patient electronic health records (EHRs) are used to study Alzheimer’s disease, heart diseases, and cancers.

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Upon background check and CCATS Executive Committee approval, Research Fellow may have patient/research subject contact directly relating to and incidental to the original research program.
