The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled PK Data Scientist with proficiency in R programming to join the clinical pharmacology team in the Nonclinical Development and Clinical Pharmacology (NDCP) Organization. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in R and SAS programming to support regulatory submissions and exploratory analyses. This role involves working with various clinical data sets.
As a PK Data Scientist, you will be responsible for performing data wrangling and generating reports for stakeholders.
Programming & Scripting in R:
Write clean, efficient, and reproducible R code for statistical analysis.
Develop and maintain R scripts for data manipulation, statistical testing, and data visualization.
Ensure that code is well-documented for future use by the team.
Data Wrangling & Preprocessing:
Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources to prepare it for analysis.
Handle missing data, perform data transformations, and ensure data integrity.
Visualization & Reporting:
Create informative and visually appealing data visualizations (e.g., using ggplot2, Shiny, etc.) to communicate complex results to non-technical stakeholders.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Documentation & Version Control:
Maintain clear documentation for all code, models, and processes.
Use version control tools (e.g., Git) to manage code updates and collaborate with team members.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Proven experience with R and associated libraries (e.g., dplyr, tidyr, ggplot2, table1, etc.).
Proficiency in data manipulation, cleaning, and transformation techniques using R.
Familiarity with version control (Git, GitHub, GitLab).
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., ggplot2, Shiny).
Preferred qualifications:
Being able to understand and run SAS code is a big plus.
Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex R code.
At least 2-3 years of experience in statistical programming, data analysis, or a related field.
Familiarity with data management platforms (e.g., SQL, databases) is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $158,000 for candidates based at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the minimum and maximum salary for the position in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
