By leveraging advanced analytics and reporting capabilities, this professional contributes to optimizing processes, mitigating risks, and maximizing the value at Ekati Mine. You will work a Monday to Friday schedule (remote work considered), traveling to the Ekati Mine site as frequently as once per month, Monday to Thursday to gather operational data, validate assumptions, and engage your Ekati colleagues.Although this role has no direct reports, you will lead cross-functional workstreams, drive consensus on analytics projects, and ensure data insights translate into tangible operational improvements.Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesEvaluate existing data infrastructure and reporting systems to identify opportunities for enhancement and optimizationAutomate routine reporting processes to streamline data dissemination and facilitate real-time decision-makingDrive initiatives to improve data quality, accessibility, and usability for stakeholders at all levels of the organizationDevelop and maintain Wenco data pipelines for acquiring, cleaning, and integrating datasets from equipmentImplement data governance standards to ensure consistency, accuracy, and security of dataCollaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, identify and validate data, and tailor insights to address specific business needsCollaborate with Mine Technical Services team members, geologists, environmental scientists, and other stakeholders to leverage domain expertise and contextualize data-driven insightsCommunicate findings and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical audiences through presentations, reports, and workshopsFoster a culture of data-driven decision-making by promoting the value of data analytics across the organizationConduct root cause analysis to identify factors impacting productivity and safety (e.g., equipment downtime, slow cycle time, payload variances)Design and develop comprehensive reports, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor key performance indicators across mining operationsUtilize statistical analysis and data visualization to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies within mining dataPerform predictive modeling to forecast operational performance, equipment reliability, and mine equipment utilizationSupport cost-benefit analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessments related to operational changesStay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in data analytics Education/ExperienceBachelor's degree or higher in mining engineering, computer science, data science, or a related fieldStrong proficiency in programming languages such as SQL and DAX for data manipulation and analysisExperience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, MinVu and Excel for creating interactive dashboards and reportsKnowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, and data mining algorithmsFamiliarity with mining operations, including drilling, blasting, hauling, and processingExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailEffective communication and collaboration skills to interact with diverse stakeholdersCommitment to continuous learning and professional development in the fields of data analytics and mining engineering What we offerAt Burgundy Diamond Mines, we believe people are our most important asset.
