We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machine Learning Engineer for our Weld Intelligence team. This role is pivotal in developing advanced AI-driven perception systems to support welding robots with navigation, welding parameter regulation, and quality control. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in reinforcement learning, model integration, and real-world deployment. Working alongside cross-functional teams, you’ll contribute to the design, testing, and deployment of innovative AI solutions to enhance robotic precision in industrial welding applications.
What You’ll Do
- Work on the development and deployment of reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms to solve complex robotic tasks
- Develop vision-based perception systems tailored for welding robots, enabling navigation and regulation of welding parameters.
- Develop, optimize, and deploy RL-based methods for motion control and planning algorithms in industrial robotic cells.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate manipulation, control, and planning algorithms into robotic platforms.
- Conduct simulations and real-world testing to validate the performance of manipulation, control, and planning algorithms.
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to manipulation, motion control, and planning in robotic systems.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics, control theory, reinforcement learning, and planning algorithms.
Who You Are
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven track record in publishing at top conferences (e.g. CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CoLR).
- Expertise in deep learning and reinforcement learning techniques.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as C++ or Python.
- Experience with robotic simulation tools (e.g., Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo).
- Solid understanding of control theory, kinematics, dynamics, and optimization techniques for robotics.
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and robotic hardware components.
- Proven track record of deploying scalable solutions for autonomous robotic systems.
- Proven track record of publishing impactful work in the robotics field.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
