We are seeking a highly motivated trainee to join a team of Data Scientist/ Machine Learning Engineers. The role involves developing innovative AI applications based on advanced ML techniques and Data Science concepts. These applications will be deployed globally, delivering impactful solutions to Nokia customers.

Position: Internship
Duration: 12 months
Start Date (tentative): July, 2025
Location: Hybrid in Amadora, Portugal
Education Recommendations: Currently a candidate finishing their BSc or MSc degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field with an accredited school

  • Develop and implement Machine Learning models and algorithms to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Conduct research, implementation, and testing of AI solutions, including generative AI and agent-based applications.
  • Utilize Big Data technologies (e.g., Spark, Ray, Dask) to process and review large-scale datasets.
  • Apply statistical techniques, descriptive or predictive analytics, and data visualization strategies for effective decision-making.

You have:

  • BSc/ MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar.
  • Relevant expertise in Machine Learning algorithms, Deep Learning architectures (e.g., CNN, LSTM, Transformers), and generative AI techniques.
  • Programming: Python. Knowledge of R and Scala is an advantage.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

It would be nice if you also had knowledge on:

  • Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of GCP, AWS, or Azure is highly valued.
  • Web Development: JavaScript experience is a plus for creating visualization or interfacing.
  • Big Data: Experience with tools such as Spark, Ray and Dask.
  • Streaming Applications: Proficiency in Kafka, Spark and Flink for data processing and real-time analytics.
