Join the Data & Analytics team on an exciting journey while you study for a degree in Data Science.

What will you be doing?

As a degree apprentice in the Data & Analytics team at BMW Financial Services UK Group, you will develop skills in:

• Programming for data analytics and data science using Python and SQL
• Data visualisation techniques using tools such as Tableau and Qlik Sense
• Databases and data warehousing using cloud infrastructure
• Preparing and modelling data
• Data governance

You’ll have opportunities to work on real projects, putting your learning into real industry practice.

You will need to be enthusiastic and well-disciplined, as the apprenticeship is heavily focused on attitude and behaviour.  In addition, it will be necessary to exhibit initiative and be reliable and conscientious.  Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of team.

Your Year-on-Year Progression -

The degree programme runs for 3 years leading to an Honours degree qualification.  20% of your working time will be allocated to your degree studies. In the first year of the course, you will learn essentials such as software development, data structures, database analysis and design and basic statistics before moving on to topics such as artificial intelligence, data analytics and cloud computing. On successful completion of your academic studies, you will receive a BSc (Hons) in Data Science (Level 6).

The apprenticeship will provide several different opportunities to support individual career development and you will be provided the support and guidance necessary, via a mentor and line manager, to ensure the training is successful.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) at Grade 6/B (or above), including Maths and English
• A minimum of 104 UCAS points (or equivalent e.g. BTEC DMM) with at least one STEM subject
• Consideration may be given to candidates who have experience with and a passion for data as an alternative to the above qualifications.

The next stage is a Video Interview. You can complete this at any time of day during your five-day invitation window and you will be recorded answering a set of questions. The first question is just for you to get used to recording yourself and is not assessed. Following completion of the Video Interview, successful applicants will be shortlisted and invited to a face-to-face Assessment Centre with BMW Group. Provisionally, the Assessment Centre is due to take place week commencing 10th March 2025.
