Job Description: 

Celestial AI is seeking an experienced Silicon Validation Engineer to drive Celestial AI’s ASIC test and bringup. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is passionate about ground-breaking compute and networking technology and driving change, and will need to have experience working with Analog Mixed Signal Circuits, Photonics, as well as Package and PCBA level test and debug experience. This person needs to have a strong sense of ownership and loves turning ambiguity into real outcomes and working across all engineering and product functions to deliver required solutions in a timely manner.

In this role, you will collaborate with the engineering teams towards validating company IP, make proof-of-concept test benches, infrastructure validation, and help support creating innovative solutions to be able to demonstrate Celestial AI's technology to the end customer(s).

This is a hands-on role requiring significant exposure to design and test at die, package, and PCBA level. Responsibilities will include identification and deployment of test instrumentation and bringup of the test in collaboration with Firmware, ASIC, Photonics, Package, and System engineers. This job will require you to have strong project management, written and verbal communication skills as well as a can-do attitude to prioritize and address issues with a very high sense of urgency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for bring up, debug and characterize silicon level internal IPs such as High-Speed SerDes, PLL/DLL, ADC, etc.
  • Evaluate and debug new features in PHY, develop driver firmware, collect performance data, and resolve application/production issues
  • Support internal SoC, FAE and ATE team on testing and system level debugging
  • Provide direct technical support to top tier customers and work with them to review designs, discuss questions and help tune performance to meet system requirements
  • Work includes but not limited to develop and execute bench level validation test plans, develop scripts to automate testing, generate appropriate test reports and write application notes
  • Provide technical support to customers

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 10 years of related professional experience
  • Proficiency required in silicon validation of mixed signal/analog/digital blocks and ICs
  • Must be adept in handling lab equipment including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, BERT, external laser sources, etc.
  • Track record demonstrating excellent technical documentation, record keeping, formal data management, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Familiar with Python Programming
  • Ability to lead and drive internal/external resources to accomplish key milestones and execute deliverables
  • Experience in Photonics is a plus

As an early startup experiencing explosive growth, we offer an extremely attractive total compensation package, inclusive of competitive base salary and a generous grant of our valuable early-stage equity. The target base salary for this role is approximately $150,000.00 - $180,000.00. The base salary offered may be slightly higher or lower than the target base salary, based on the final scope as determined by the depth of the experience and skills demonstrated by candidate in the interviews.
