We are looking for a motivated, self-driven, and curious Junior Security Data Scientist who will further improve the data transformation journey within CISO. The Global CISO organisation within ING is responsible for assisting management, business and other tribes in providing customer-friendly services safely and securely. Business leaders and CISO are jointly responsible for bank-wide security, and CISO is mandated to drive necessary change in all domains, business and IT. We look for someone interested in playing a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of the new ING-wide framework for Identity and Access Management (IAM). You are key in executing and heightening the IAM strategy too. The Security Data Scientist helps to assess the quality of the current analytics and provides technical expertise on several areas of improvement. Notably, they will co-create end-to-end analytical models and put those into a production environment. As an expert, they will deliver the necessary business know-how and skills within the squad to realise our shared purpose of heightening IAM’s capabilities with analytics.
The team
The Security Data Scientist reports to the Head of Security Analytics. IAM is part of the Global CISO organisation and is currently transforming the way they work with roles, permissions, and are increasing the role of automation.
Roles and responsibilities
A Security Data Scientist at ING CISO combines operational expertise with data and analytics and is responsible for:
· Supporting the Senior Security Data Scientist in the development and implementation of a new framework
· Owning, maintaining, and implementing analytical models (e.g. machine learning, statistical, rule-based) consistently with our end-to-end mentality
· Data exploration, organisation, model production, and adoption within CISO and beyond
· Identifying functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders aimed at providing high-quality security detection for ING.
· Acting as a point of contact for new data products and as the overall detection algorithm expert also towards our stakeholders
· Maintaining relations with the country and business unit leaders, as well as our internal stakeholders, to ensure the effectiveness and usability of the data products created

● A Technical Master’s degree (e.g. cybersecurity, computer sciences, Mathematics or a comparable degree)
● Expertise in analytics, machine learning, and quantitative (data) modelling.
● Experienced in the following programming languages, tools and platforms:
○ Python (and basic ML libraries, e.g. Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib)
○ Pyspark and Spark streaming
○ Git
○ Databricks
○ Workflows (jobs and delta live tables)
● Good oral and written communication skills (in English), as well as good negotiation skills
● Ability to support yourself and work with other team members
