Data Engineering - Data Science

Brief Overview:

As one of the key innovation drivers of the SGX Group, the Data Engineering team is not only involved in new and exciting emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, Big Data and Cloud, but also has the responsibility to design the data architecture and infrastructure, manage the integrity of the data, develop data dictionaries and models to govern the data, and also to build data pipelines, advanced analytics and visualization that will transform and imbue a data-driven culture.

Learning Objectives:

The Data Engineering team is looking for a dynamic intern with a passion for new technologies to challenge him/herself and others with expanded out-of-the-box thinking. The selected intern will learn about SGX’s suite of securities and derivatives products, work with large amounts of data generated by the exchange’s platforms, get involved in the build of ETL pipelines and platform enhancements.

Job Description:

• Identify business problems that could be addressed through data science/ data analysis.
• Propose and build solutions to address business needs.
• Learn to use kdb+ for extracting data from the data warehouse to be used by the model. 
• Build end-to-end production pipelines linking data, models and visualization\GUI to expose developed capabilities for business end users.

Knowledge and Skills requirements:

• Highly driven, pro-active and a strong team player
• Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills in English
• Familiar with AI/ML Modelling
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Familiarity with GenAI models is an advantage
• Good understanding of financial markets is preferred
