TEAMThe Enterprise AI Team’s mission is to give Toyota a platform for AI growth. The team works to simplify training, inference, MLops and other aspects of AI development. This is used internally to build safety, convenience and autonomy for the Toyota vehicles.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FORAs part of the Enterprise AI team, you will work closely with feature engineers from machine learning, simulation, and vehicle software.
We are looking for a frontend engineer who is passionate about good user experience. Someone who draws from web development experience involving HTML, TypeScript, CSS, React and source control to build and own the user interface for Enterprise AI.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with product manager and other engineers to develop tools and frameworks for user interaction with complex datasets to support AI training and inference
• Scope, design UI and technical means for the new features to meet the needs of customers inside and outside of Enterprise AI
• Design DOM, create UI elements like buttons, lists, text inputs and others, animate them with TypeScript to create a unified user journey
• Own the UI aspect of the project, lead from design, implementation to deployment
• Define standards and software best practices for frontend applications to produce maintainable code, including automated testing, continuous integration, code style, and code review
• Adhere to the company visual guidelines, prefer using Toyota UI framework and components

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 2 years of experience with web development and TypeScript
• At least 1 years of experience with React framework, UI testing tools, component library, API utilization skills
• Understanding of concurrency, async requests and proper state management
• Experience with source control (GitHub, GitLab) development tools and processes, including Git, continuous integration, and code review

NICE TO HAVES:

• Experience with containers (Docker) and cloud development (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Experience with caching, performance improvement, memory profiling, sprites, HTML and TypeScript compression
• Experience working with interface design software like Figma or Storybook
• Experience with internationalization, mobile development or full stack
• Experience with database design and usage (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
