You will help our clients develop and realize their ambition to leverage AI at scale and drive better business outcomes. In addition, you will play a pivotal role for in helping our clients integrate ethical, fairness, transparency, and accountability considerations into their AI initiatives. Your key responsibilities

As a Data Scientist Manager (Responsible AI), you will be leading a team of junior team members working with a wide variety of clients to define, develop and operationalize their AI strategy, governance and assurance framework, Model Operations (ModelOps) architecture and other capabilities adhering to their internal enterprise level policies and procedures, regulatory compliance and security requirements. 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive AI Strategy that aligns with the client's goals, mission and vision and adheres to their enterprise policies and procedures and AI regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Collaborating with the Assurance Team to embed the risk framework into the end-to-end AI capabilities and model lifecycle management.
  • Staying abreast of AI technology trends and regulatory requirements while providing directional guidance and recommendations around ModelOps tools and solutions that fit their needs and integrate with their existing ecosystem
  • Applying combined business and technical knowledge to develop and execute ModelOps target architecture that enables implementation and monitoring of AI at scale as it aligns with Responsible AI guidelines
  • Collaborating with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, MLOps Engineers, DevOps to implement and sustain ModelOps target architecture in client's platform of choice
  • Collaborating with clients to understand their business objectives and develop tailored Responsible AI strategies aligned with their values and regulatory obligations
  • Designing and implementing ethical frameworks, guidelines, and policies to govern the development and deployment of AI systems, ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability
  • Leading efforts to identify and mitigate biases in AI algorithms and data, employing techniques such as fairness-aware machine learning and bias detection
  • Monitoring progress, managing risk and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
  • Understanding clients' overall data, AI and technology landscape, business priorities and success measures. Solving problems by incorporating data into decision making
  • Strong team collaboration and experience working with a diverse team in a hybrid model (on site and remote)
  • Fostering relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels. Consistently delivering quality client services. Driving high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget
  • Continuously evaluating opportunities for improving methods and outcomes

To qualify for the role you must have 

  • Bachelor's degree, or MS degree in Business, Economics, Technology Entrepreneurship, Computer Science, Informatics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or Machine Learning
  • Minimum of 5-8 + years of professional consulting experience in business or technology consulting or similar roles
  • Proven experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, or related fields, with a strong understanding of AI technologies and their ethical implications
  • Strong data science and/or data engineering experience
  • Ability to stay updated with industry trends and AI regulatory requirements, and quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of AI technologies and frameworks
  • Communication and critical thinking are essential. Must be able to listen and understand the question and develop and deliver clear insights
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive successful outcomes
  • Independent and able to manage and prioritize workload
  • Ability to adapt quickly and positively to change
  • A valid driver's license in the US; willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs.
  • Team player 

 

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience in leading business or IT transformation projects that have supported data science, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, and cloud applications at scale
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards related to AI ethics, privacy, and data protection
  • Certification in relevant areas such as AI ethics, data ethics, or responsible AI is a plus
  • Working experience with Agile and/or Scrum methods of delivery
  • Working experience with design led thinking
  • Microsoft, AWS, ServiceNow, or Snowflake Certifications in the Data & AI domain 
  What we offer   We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $124,300 to $227,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $149,200 to $259,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
