Key deliverables & strategic responsibilities

  • Audit Management – Serve as the key contact for auditors and internal stakeholders, ensuring a smooth and timely audit sign-off within six months

  • R&D and Corporation Tax – Act as the main point of contact for PwC and internal technical colleagues, facilitating PwC’s R&D reporting

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation – Own specific balance sheet reconciliations and support the Finance Manager as needed

  • Insurance Management – Act as the primary finance contact for insurance brokers, leading renewals and creating internal documentation to support sales and delivery teams

  • Monthly P&L Production – Assist the Finance Manager with month-end reporting, taking responsibility for specific areas, including analysis and commentary

  • Treasury Management – Conduct monthly cash flow analysis, providing recommendations on treasury deposits and cash management

  • Accounts Receivable – Support the Head of Finance with invoicing, revenue recognition, and cash collection

  • Accounts Payable – Be prepared to take ownership of accounts payable processes if/when needed

  • Mentoring – Provide guidance and mentorship to Finance Assistants on tasks they support

  • Process Improvement & Automation – Identify and implement system and process enhancements to drive efficiency and service quality

  • Policy Governance & Documentation – Oversee finance policies and procedures, ensuring they remain compliant, accurate, and up to date

  • Regulatory Compliance – Ensure adherence to financial regulations, including Companies House, HMRC, and GAAP reporting requirements

  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with the Finance Manager, FP&A, and other stakeholders to align finance operations with broader organisational goals

  • Attention to Detail – Ensure financial data accuracy through a meticulous and methodical approach

  • Policy Governance – Proficient in developing, reviewing, and maintaining finance policies to ensure compliance

  • Compliance – Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and risk management practices

  • Process Improvement – Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement automation to enhance efficiency

  • Communication – Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and teams

  • Planning & Organisation – Ability to set and achieve finance team objectives through effective planning and resource allocation

  • System Implementation & Management – Experience in introducing and managing new systems to automate financial and people operations processes
