Leidos, a Fortune 500 company, and leader in the Energy Infrastructure and Automation market, is seeking to hire an Energy Automation Operational Excellence Analyst to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with broad skills across operations, benefits management, and business process transformation domains to help ensure our next generation energy and power design automation strategies deliver measurable customer value.  The selected candidate will work with automation tooling internal customers, users, and operational support teams to ensure efficacy, track benefits realization, collect feedback, advocate for consumers where needed, and maintain a repository of continuous improvement opportunities for future consideration.

An ideal candidate will have exceptional skills in communication, engagement, collaboration, team leadership and be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision and direction.  The ideal candidate will have strong investigative skills and an ability to connect with people to dig into processes and cultivate/develop what is working and what isn’t. The candidate should be intellectually curious, enjoy discovery and learning, and possess organizational skills needed to organize and prioritize feedback.  Experience with utility power systems (Transmission, Substation, Distribution, Planning) and fundamental AI technologies is a great basis for success, as is business acumen and perspective.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with operational users and development teams to clarify existing and future business processes
  • Develop a clear understanding of the intended business benefits and technology enablers
  • Work with customers to develop benefits measurement strategies during development and track and measure benefits through operations
  • Schedule and lead customer feedback sessions and drive to clarify on efficacy and impact
  • Track feedback and develop continuous improvement strategies
  • Engage program leadership and brief benefits trends
  • Collaborate with technical support to drive understanding and resolution of issues
  • Coordinate and communicate change between business and technical stakeholders.
  • Sound the alarm when things aren’t working
  • Celebrate successes and create user stories about impacts of change

Basic Qualifications

  • Entry Level: Bachelor's Degree with two plus (2+) years of relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Mid-Level: Bachelor's Degree with four plus (4+) years of relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Strong problem-solving, conceptual, and analytical abilities
  • Experience developing customer engagement plans
  • Basic knowledge of electric power systems and the power grid
  • Basic conceptual knowledge of AI/ML strategies including supervised, unsupervised, semi-supervised, and reinforcement learning
  • An intellectually curious mindset and passion for learning / sense-making
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; you will need to learn enough to appreciate your customers’ missions and challenges
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks independently
  • Must currently have a valid U.S Passport or the ability to obtain one for international travel
  • Ability to travel up to (25%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in low/medium/high voltage power system design
  • Formal AI training courses or degree
  • Direct experience as a business process change consultant

Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00
