We are currently looking for a Data Scientist Intern to join our Sales Operations team in our go-to-market focused Worldwide Field Operations org. This role focuses on improving our global sales forecasting and demand planning processes through the application of data science and time series forecasting methods.
As a Data Scientist Intern, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing forecasting models that drive decision-making across global sales operations. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate data workflows, analyze sales trends, and build scalable tools that improve forecasting accuracy. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise to real-world business challenges in a fast-paced environment!
What You’ll Be Doing:
Collaborate on machine learning and statistical models to improve demand planning and sales forecasts for Enterprise Sales Operations.
Work with interdisciplinary partners to explore and integrate external and internal data sources into forecasting models.
Process and analyze large datasets for model training & validation to ensure robust and accurate forecasts.
Research competitor strategies and market trends, presenting findings with recommendations to improve forecasting.
Explain technical solutions in clear, business-friendly terms so both technical and non-technical stakeholders can understand and agree on the best approach.
What We Need To See:
Pursuing a Masters or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline, i.e. Data Science, Applied Math, Computer Science/Engineering or a related field.
Relevant coursework and hands-on projects to demonstrate good understanding of ML, time series forecasting, and applied statistics
Proficiency in SQL and either R or Python
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with desire to build successful partnerships within all levels of the Company
Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd:
Proven experience applying machine learning and time series models to tackle business problems
Able to distill highly technical topics for non-technical partners
Familiarity with Salesforce, SAP, cloud data platforms (i.e. Databricks), version control (Git)
Experience in finance or sales operations
