About The Role

We are seeking a motivated Data Scientist to join our dynamic team within Marketing Analytics. As a Data Scientist, you will work closely with senior data scientists and engineers to help leverage data analytics to drive insights, inform decision-making processes, derive actionable insights, and optimize performance within Boston Scientific. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to assist in the development and implementation of data analytics solutions that support our mission of delivering high-quality products and improving patient outcomes. The candidate must have a desire to learn quickly, communicate effectively, and solve technical/complex problems in a hands-on manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and IT, to understand project requirements and objectives, ensuring alignment with overall business strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of market and customer data to identify opportunities for automation and advanced analytics to optimize marketing and sales strategies.
  • Collect, clean, and preprocess large and complex datasets from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and normalization techniques.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques to extract actionable insights and predict future trends.
  • Design, conduct, and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to test hypotheses, validate models, and refine strategies based on empirical evidence.
  • Generate, interpret, and visualize insights from data analysis using advanced visualization tools, creating detailed reports and presentations tailored to stakeholders' needs.
  • Prepare and present technical data, findings, and recommendations at technical reviews, ensuring clarity and precision for diverse audiences.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the performance of existing models and algorithms, implementing feedback loops and updating methodologies as needed.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and healthcare technology, actively participating in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional experience with a BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, OR 1 year with an MS degree in the same fields.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python, with demonstrated experience in using libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, and familiarity with other programming languages like R and SAS.
  • In-depth understanding of statistical modeling techniques, including both supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms, and predictive analytics methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Excel to create intuitive and informative visualizations that effectively communicate data stories.
  • Hands-on experience working with cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake or Google BigQuery, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of applying these skills to complex data challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, non-technical language for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce, marketing automation platforms like Marketing Cloud, and web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Proficient in using version control systems like Git for collaborative development and version tracking.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Databricks, including deploying and managing data pipelines and machine learning models.
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare data standards and regulations, and their implications for data analysis and model development.
  • Experience with implementing machine learning algorithms and frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch in real-world projects
