As a Data Scientist on the Image Search Experience team, you'll play a pivotal role in optimizing the quality of image search results. We're leveraging cutting-edge techniques in image understanding and Large Language Model technologies. Please note this role does not provide international relocations and requires 50%+ time presence in the Redmond office.

Responsibilities

  • Image Search Quality Optimization: Utilize state-of-the-art techniques to optimize the quality of image search results.
  • LLM Integration: Leverage the power of Language Model Models to enhance image search capabilities, ensuring that our platform understands user intent better than ever before.
  • Image Classification: Develop models for image classification and tagging to improve search accuracy.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and trends, contributing valuable insights to improve search algorithms.
  • A/B Testing: Design and conduct A/B tests to assess the impact of algorithmic changes.
  • Research and Innovation: Propose innovative solutions to enhance our multimedia capabilities. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science and multimedia technology.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field
    • OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical tec
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical tec
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years experience in developing and implementing machine learning algorithms.
  • 1+ years experience of data analysis tools such as Python, R, or similar.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in developing and implementing machine learning algorithms.
  • Previous experience in search and recommendations analytics or related fields.
  • Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) and LLMs.
  • Published research or contributions to the data science community.

Data Science IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
