Data Scientist to Lowell

We are looking for a Data Scientist with the drive and passion to build, enhance, and maintain predictive models using the most appropriate statistical and machine learning methodologies.

The Operations Analytics team is responsible for developing advanced analytics solutions to various Lowell’s business needs. As a Data Scientist, together with other seasoned data professionals in the team, you will contribute to the design and delivery of predictive models and get an opportunity to shape how advanced analytics will be applied in credit management.

Job description:

In your role as Data Scientist, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of advanced analytics models to different functions in the business and work closely with their departments in a variety of areas such as collection strategy, reforecasting and pricing.

Your close partnership with stakeholders across the business will give you valuable understanding of Lowell’s core business model and through close collaboration you will explore opportunities to drive significant value through employing advanced analytics models.

As Data Scientist you are intellectually curious, a critical thinker and have a naturally analytical mindset. You tolerate ambiguity and have a willingness to keep looking for better answers. You are enthusiastic, tenacious, and driven to tackle demanding goals. Your problem-solving skills and business acumen allow you to make significant contributions to the business.

We also expect the following qualifications:

·       Several years of experience working as a Data Scientist or similar role in complex analytics tasks

·       Solid experience in building production-grade statistical and machine learning models

·       Experience working in cloud environments, preferably in Microsoft Azure and Databricks

·       A self-driven approach to solving problems and a willingness to take a high level of responsibility for the delivery of analytics projects

·       A degree (B.Sc/M.Sc/Ph.D) in a quantitative discipline (e.g. computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, econometrics)

·       Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R and SQL

·       Good interactive skills and fluent proficiency in English (any Nordic language is a plus)

·       The ability for independent planning and decision-making.
