Job Title: Data Scientist

Location:  Bangalore – Manyata Tech Park

Business & Team:

As a Data Scientist in the Business Bank’s Customer, Channels & Data AI Centre of Excellence (CCD – AICE), you will play a key role in developing & executing AI initiatives and strategies to uplift the capability of practitioners and leaders alike. You will be the driving force that will help build the AI capability across the whole group and work through various levels across the businesses to embed the knowledge required to deliver on our business and customer outcomes. Using your powerful combination of hands-on knowledge and organisational abilities, you’ll foster a growth orientated culture of sharing, learning and problem solving across teams.  

Impact & contribution:

As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in the design, development, and deployment of state-of-the-art AI models in different areas of Business Banking. In this role you will work along a team of talented data scientists to deliver high quality solutions leveraging machine learning, statistical modelling, and generative AI. You will also be supporting the uplift of AI capability across the group, empowering teams to deliver best outcomes for our customers and business. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders, product owners, engineers, and other teams to develop and implement best in class AI solutions supporting group strategy

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead data-driven initiatives, from problem formulation to model deployment, from leveraging advanced statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms to GenAI Solutions
• Drive the development and implementation of scalable data solutions, ensuring accuracy and reliability of models.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define project goals, prioritize tasks, and deliver actionable insights.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate model performance and optimize algorithms for maximum efficiency.
• Develop and deploy production-grade machine learning models in cloud-based and on-prem platforms.
• Analyse data, build models, and develop algorithms to identify patterns and anomalies that may indicate potential disputes or risks.
• Work closely with stakeholders, including banking professionals and customers, to understand their requirements, gather feedback, and ensure that AI solutions meet their needs.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously enhancing expertise in Data Science & AI methodologies and tools.

Essential Skills:

• 6-9 years of extensive experience in the field with a demonstrated history of managing complex AI and machine learning projects.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python/R, and deep knowledge of machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
• Ability to write well designed, modular and optimized code.
• Knowledge of Snowflake, AWS, Azure, H2O.ai is preferred
• Knowledge of commonly used data structures and algorithms.
• Solid foundation of Statistics and core ML algorithms at a mathematical (under the hood) level.
• Proven expertise in developing state-of-the-art algorithms for predictive analytics, natural language processing, computer vision, or other AI domains.
• Knowledge of Time Series, NLP and Deep Learning and Generative AI is preferred.
• Must have been part of projects building and deploying predictive models in production involving large and complex data sets.
• Proven expertise in developing state-of-the-art algorithms for predictive analytics, natural language processing, computer vision, or other AI domains.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Most importantly - ability to identify and translate theories into real applications to solve practical problems

Education Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering Or Master’s degree Or Ph.D. in Data Science/Machine Learning/ Computer Science/ Computational Linguistics/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Engineering/ Physics.
