The Azure Edge and Platform Quality and Validation team is responsible for building the test orchestration solutions used to validate the quality of every OS build produced by our engineering system. The results generated from the system are crucial to key business decisions like code flow and releasing OS updates. The team is continuously partnering with various orgs to meet their ever-changing needs, as well as deliver a reliable, efficient, and secure system in Azure, the most reliable cloud platform available.  We are looking for a Data Scientist to help us advance this work.

Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate closely with teammates and partner teams to deliver full end to end developer validation experiences. 
  • Drive system features and updates fully from design through deployment and production monitoring. 
  • Leverage telemetry and monitoring to provide insight into health of changes implemented in the system. 
  • Assist in investigating and mitigating live-site issues to ensure daily delivery of test results to customers. 
  • Implement basic code to extract raw data, validate its quality, and ensure the correct data is ingested within your area of work. Apply basic modification techniques to transform raw data into forms compatible with downstream data sources.
  • Contribute to the development of data tools that can transform, manage, and access data. Validate code to test the storage and availability of data platforms.
  • Follow data modeling and handling procedures to maintain compliance with all applicable laws and policies across your assigned workstreams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field

         o OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business analytics, data science, data modeling or data engineering work OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Exposure to Azure Data Explorer / Kusto Query Language / Machine Learning algorithms.
  • 2+ years' experience in Software/Data Engineering.

 

Background Check: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Data Science IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $81,900 - $160,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,600 - $174,600 per year.
