Assess existing data landscape and recommend improvements in data collection, storage, and processing methodologies
Develop and implement data pre-processing and cleaning techniques to ensure data quality and consistency
Design, develop, and apply advanced statistical and machine learning models to derive insights and support data-driven decision-making
Visualize and communicate complex data analyses, trends, and patterns to department stakeholders through interactive dashboards and reports
Collaborate with SME's to identify and prioritize data analysis projects based on department objectives and available resources
Ensure compliance with federal government data privacy and security requirements, including FISMA and GDPR, when working with sensitive datasets
Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of data models, recommending and implementing enhancements as needed
Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in data science and apply these learnings to improve processes and outcomes
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred, with at least 7 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with a focus on federal government environments
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, and experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, or TensorFlow)
Expertise in statistical and Machine Learning techniques, including regression, clustering, and classification algorithms
Strong data visualization skills, including experience with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js
