As a part of the BASF Global Digital Trainee Program, you will receive full support from day one to make meaningful contributions to our team. Our Site Logistics Management and Operations team provides end to end solutions to steer all logistics related activities at the production sites. We want to expand our portfolio of applications and services beyond the existing systems to provide AI-driven applications and advanced predictive analysis to our customers and you will help us deliver these AI solutions, being able to learn the whole process: from ideation phase, through it’s development and the final roll-out to production & later escalation.

Additionally, as part of the program, you will have the chance to participate in an all-expense paid international stint in Germany, which will further enhance your network and intercultural skills.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

• A comprehensive 18-month program based in the Digital Hub Madrid. This includes a 6-month internship period to learn and a 12-month training contract to kick-start your career.
• Four rotations, each approximately five months long, in at least three different teams to give you exposure to different parts of digitalization.
• An all-expense paid rotation in Germany, helping you to expand your network and further develop your intercultural skills.
• You will support the team identifying the needs, requirements and help with the delivery of effective AI solutions.
• You will learn how to ensure the correct deployment to production and maintenance/support of the models.
• Help document the process and results to contribute upscaling and managing services globally.
• Research and stay on track with the latest trends and advancements in AI and machine learning.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for committed interns/trainees who want to gain knowledge and develop professional skills. We value candidates who set challenging goals for themselves, and approach opportunities with an open mind.

We are looking for someone that:

• is finishing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics). However, other disciplines are also welcomed.
• shows interest in programming and an active involvement in extra-curricular activities of any kind.
• has excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• brings a positive learning spirit and a growth mindset.
• knows programming languages such as Python.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Basic knowledge on MLOps.

Nice to have knowledge (but not necessary):

• University or training projects related to production or logistics.
• Previous experience on cloud-based solutions, preferably Azure.
• Previous experience on Computer Vision, Generative AI and analytics to process sensor / time-series data.
• Internship or project experience in AI or data science.
• Knowledge of data preprocessing and feature engineering techniques.
• Basic understanding of neural networks and deep learning principles.
