Universal City:

At our Universal City office interns will have access to the NBCUCommutes program, which provides fully subsidized transit passes to full-time lower lot employees, good for unlimited rides on all Metro bus and rail, such as the Metro Red Line.

Job Description

Summer 2025 Internship Program:

  • Program Dates: June 2 – August 8, 2025
  • Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. 
  • Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Universal City, CA.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
 

  • Peacock Advanced Analytics: The primary focus of this role is to champion the intelligent use of data to inform strategic decision making.  As part of the Peacock team, you will focus on the intelligent use of data to perform analysis and provide actionable insights.  You will be part of the Retention and Engagement analytics team, working on retention insights, customer segmentation, and identifying churn trends, to help fuel healthy customer growth.  You will be joining a highly collaborate team that partners with business stakeholders throughout Peacock. You’ll get to explore various data sources to analyze trends, generate insights, and contribute to the interpretation of findings. Help create clear, concise reports and visualizations to communicate results to stakeholders, aiding in data-driven decision-making.
  • Media Group HQ, Data Science: Our Data Science program is designed to provide interns with real-world experience working on projects on a typical Data Science environment, using state of the art tools and technologies, while gaining broad exposure to the media industry. Interns will acquire specific responsibilities, goals, and timelines aligned with the teams they are embedded in. Join us as we collaborate across our business to support and inform data-enhanced strategic decisions.
  • USG, Global Data Strategy & Transformation: The Global Data Strategy and Transformation group sits at the center of several strategy teams within UPG with the goal of enabling the business to leverage Data and Technology to make highly informed decisions. We work with various stakeholders within the Universal Pictures Group and have visibility with the chair of the studio, Marketing, Distribution, Finance, etc. The team is structured between Data Strategy, Advanced Analytics, and Applied Analytics. Data Strategy identifies and curates data and technologies that add value to the business. Advanced Analytics discovers the value in the data through modeling and statistical rigor to answer the questions the business may have around content, consumer behaviors, marketing, etc. Applied Analytics shapes the outputs into transformative deliverables to various stakeholders in the business. Our group has various workstreams that it actively manages like Content Demand forecasting and generation, Audience identification and activation, Competitive and Talent landscape models, overseeing various forms of testing and surveying, Financial risk assessment of the film slate, and beyond.
  • Peacock Consumer Insights: The Peacock Consumer Insights Team supplies insights in support of strategic objectives to stakeholders across the organization, including the Content Strategy, Content Development & Marketing teams. As an intern on our team, you will be exposed to a variety of quantitative and qualitative primary research methodologies and gain experience in analyzing the output to provide actionable insights for the business.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (June 2025 through August 2025). May 2025 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2025 Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.

NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.  

Desired Characteristics:

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • For Peacock Analytics: Fluent in SQL with hands-on experience, and proficient in Excel (R or Python a plus). Knowledge of Tableau & data visualization. Working towards Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business Analytics, Marketing, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or other relevant quantitative fields. Experience w/ Big Query / Google technology stack, Snowflake, or similar.
  • For Media Group HQ, Data Science: Working knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: R, Python, Julia, Java, Scala or similar. Prior experience with Machine Learning or statistical modeling. Familiarity with Spark, Databricks and/or AWS. Experience with data visualization techniques and reporting tools like Tableau.
  • For USG, Global Data Strategy & Transformation: Strong analytical skills such as EDA, vast amounts of data, various modeling and statistical techniques, and data visualization. SQL, Python, cloud computing.
  • For Peacock Consumer Insights: Working towards a degree required in a relevant field (Business, Market Research, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, etc.). Statistics knowledge and experience required; ability to conduct advanced statistical analysis like factor or conjoint analysis is a plus but not required. Experience with a statistical analysis tool like R, SPSS and/or survey analysis software like Marketsight, Alchemer, or SurveyMonkey preferred.

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $30.00.

The hourly rate range for graduate student interns is $30.00 - 35.00.
