Academic Year Recruitment Timeline:   

April 21 – May 9: Applications Open (may close early due to applicant volume)  

Early May – Mid June: First round video interviews   

Mid June – Mid July: Second round interviews  

Throughout July: Selected candidates receive offers  

Academic Year Internship Program:

  • Program Dates: September 15, 2025 – April 17, 2026 
  • Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.  We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

Operations & Technology: (O&T) is a $1B operating cash flow ($1.5B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, Connecticut, and London.       

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to: 
  

  • Media Group, Peacock Data Science: At Peacock, we are building a world-class team of smart, hungry and fearless professionals who are energized by the possibility of working at the epicenter of content, technology and culture. Unlike a traditional internship, the Data Science Internship in Peacock embeds future data scientists in ongoing projects within the organization. They become active members of existing teams developing data science projects, acquiring specific responsibilities, goals and timelines which are interdependent with the goals and timelines of the teams they are embedded in. Upon the completion, future Data Scientists will have gained experience in real-world projects on a typical data science environment, using state of the art data science tools, and broad exposure to the media industry. 

  • Media Group, Peacock Data Engineering: This role will be on the GenAI & Applied Research team within Data Engineering. Our team is currently focused on working with our Data Science AI team to develop a single Generative AI Platform for the entire Decision Sciences business org to leverage. We are developing internal GenAI applications for other teams at the same time which will utilize this platform once complete. You will receive incredibly valuable exposure to the razor’s edge of technological innovation and advancement in the AI space as you help the team construct and maintain both these individual GenAI applications as well as the wider foundational framework of libraries offered by the Platform. 

  • O&T, Enterprise Product Ad Sales: Our group supports all Data Analytics needs for the NBCU AdSales division. AdSales is one of the largest profit centers for NBCU Comcast. The portfolio of Data Products supports the Pitch to Pay processes, leveraging data from various operational systems including Salesforce, Planning, and Stewarding through Invoicing. One of the Data Products is the gold standard for AdSales data that will be leveraged for AI Agent development. The intern will support writing technical requirements for one of the Data Squads, along with supporting internal acceptance testing by profiling data and supporting new feature development. 

  • O&T, Data & Analytics – Corporate Analytics & Insights: Our team creates data solutions for internal stakeholders within NBCU. We build end-to-end data visualization products that are critical for making business decisions. Potential projects for our intern include exploring AI Co-pilot, building data pipelines, designing dashboard wireframes, and creating scalable automated reports. The intern will support documentation of processes, creating innovative solutions to current data problems, and collaborate with team members to ensure data quality and stability. 

  • O&T, Data & Analytics – Studio Analytics & Insights: The intern will be providing data solutions for Studio analytics, insights, forecasting, and predictions. They will have heavy exposure to resources in the Google Cloud Platform as well as working with requirements given to us by business solutions through our product team to build ETL solutions that adhere to our processes & guidelines. 

  • O&T, Data & Analytics - Enterprise Product Finance: Our Data and Analytics team works within the SAP ecosystem, focusing on key areas like data governance, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and reporting. We ensure data integrity and security through robust governance practices while leveraging various SAP tools. With many upcoming projects incorporating advanced technologies, including AI-driven analytics, developing real-time reporting solutions to drive data-driven decision-making and improve business outcomes. 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2025 through April 2026). December 2025 graduates are not eligible for our 2025-2026 Academic Year Internship Program. 
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits). 
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States. 
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 15, 2025 – April 17, 2026.  
  • Must be working from a location within a U.S. state during all hours worked. 

For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.  

NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.   

Desired Characteristics: 

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred. 
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. 
  • Prior experience with Forecasting with ML and/or statistical techniques. 
  • Advanced working knowledge of statistics and its applications for inferential data analysis. 
  • Working knowledge of deep learning models and development frameworks such as Tensorflow or Pytorch. 
  • Experience with data visualization techniques and concepts. 
  • Basic knowledge of Data Modeling. 
  • Experience with data analytics, and exposure to BI Tools. 
  • Familiarity with Github. 
  • Experience with SQL and Python. 
  • Experience working with generative AI technologies: LLMs, RAG frameworks, and VectorDBs. 
  • Beginner experience with GCP. 
  • Proficient in agile methodologies: including iterative software design, test-driven development, and CI/CD deployment tooling. 
  • Proficient in containerization (preferably Docker) and workflow orchestration technologies (preferably Airflow & Kubernetes). 
  • Experience in API development. 

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $30.00. 

The hourly rate range for graduate student interns is $30.00 - 35.00.
