As a data scientist within the Finance function, one will work on cross-functional advanced analytics and business intelligence projects. The role requires a deep understanding of technical, functional, and financial domains to provide insights, support decision-making and strengthen the business control framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analytics Delivery: Plan, develop, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality analytics solutions across finance functions, providing actionable insights
  • Model Development: Build and maintain advanced machine learning models for Payables, Receivables, Treasury, T&E, Procurement
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with process operations teams to identify opportunities for technology-driven improvements thereby enhancing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Risk and Control Projects: Engage in cross-functional and matrixed projects focused on risk mitigation and the implementation of new or improved controls within key processes and systems.
  • Data Profiling and Quality Assessment: Conduct root cause analysis, data quality assessment, and data profiling to uncover trends, identify anomalies, and highlight potential risk areas.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with additional qualifications in IT/Data Analytics or Finance (e.g., CA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, FRM).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in analytics with a proven ability to design and integrate pragmatic analytics solutions adapted to various levels of operational risk.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Python, SQL, Power BI, Databricks, and Microsoft Azure, with strong experience in advanced analytics and machine learning.
  • Data and BI Expertise: Deep understanding of BI/DW concepts, data modeling, and entity relationship diagrams.
  • Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with large-scale data analytics and complex data programs, with an understanding of business processes such as P2P, O2C, R2R, and Procurement. Knowledge of SAP ERP is a plus.
