The Commercial Data Science (CDS) team is a community of experts who work closely with business stakeholders within Shell and provide analytical solutions with their domain and technical expertise. You will be part of the Digital Process Twin (DPT) portfolio within this CDS team.

As a Data Science Analyst, you will work with the latest data science technologies to solve business problems and create value for Shell. Collaborating with a team of data scientists, you will develop analytical solutions that leverage capabilities such as Process Mining, Machine Learning, and Advanced Statistical Modeling, driving operational efficiency and enhancing the organization’s profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in data cleaning, processing, and analysis using Python, R, or SQL, while collaborating with data scientists to apply machine learning, statistical methods, and process mining to solve business problems.
• Gain an understanding of business processes and contribute to testing, validating, and reporting on data models to ensure solutions align with business needs and goals.
• Help prepare reports and dashboards that clearly communicate data insights, ensuring accuracy and relevance for business stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of data and process mining solutions, gaining hands-on experience with relevant technologies.
• Engage in continuous learning and participate in team brainstorming sessions to contribute fresh ideas and apply new data science tools and techniques to ongoing projects.

Professional Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related areas.
• Completed at least two academic project or internship where you utilized Python, R, or SQL to analyze datasets and extract actionable insights.
• Participated in at least two team-based project or competition that involved applying data science techniques and presenting findings to a non-technical audience.
• Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, R, or SQL, with the ability to write clean, efficient code.
• Analytical Skills: Good foundation of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques, with the ability to apply these skills to real-world data.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical thinking with a passion for solving complex business problems through data.
• Learning Mindset: A strong desire to learn and grow in data science, machine learning, and process mining, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly convey technical concepts and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Team Collaboration: Willingness to work collaboratively with a diverse team and contribute to shared goals.
