About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Contract Compliance Review Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will ensure that contracts, policies, and agreements comply with laws, regulations, and community standards, especially in regulated industries or community-oriented sectors. This role is critical in analyzing legal risks, maintaining adherence to compliance requirements, and providing guidance on aligning contracts with regulatory frameworks and organizational policies.

Responsibilities:
  • Review contracts, agreements, and policies to ensure compliance with community standards.
  • Ensure terms and clauses adhere to legal and ethical community-related standards.
  • Identify potential legal risks associated with contracts and propose modifications to mitigate risks.
  • Provide advice on regulatory compliance for specific contract terms.
  • Ensure contracts align with community values and organizational principles.
  • Monitor updates to laws, regulations, and community standards that may affect contracts.
  • Draft or refine policies related to contract management and compliance.
  • Educate internal teams on legal and compliance aspects of contracts with different communities.
Requirements:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Law.
    • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional – CCEP (preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5+ years in contract compliance or a related field.
    • Experience in the mining industry (preferred).
    • Familiarity with community standards and compliance.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Proficiency in MS Office.
    • In-depth knowledge of community standards and regulatory compliance.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Languages:
    • Fluency in Canadian English.
