Scope and Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Data Scientist to join our team. The primary purpose of this role is to support the development of machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions that enhance and streamline internal audit activities across various domains within the banking sector. As a Junior Data Scientist, you will collaborate with experienced professionals to build innovative data-driven solutions that improve decision-making and operational efficiency to strengthen the internal control system of the bank. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate to start their career in data science and contribute to innovative AI-driven solutions in a banking environment. Required experience

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. • No previous professional experience required, but any internships or academic projects involving data science, machine learning, or AI are advantageous. 

Required qualifications, skills and knowledge

• Proficiency in Python is a must, with a solid understanding of libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, and TensorFlow. • A strong foundation in data analysis, statistics, and machine learning techniques. • Familiarity with data wrangling and data visualization tools and techniques. • Knowledge of AI and machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning. • Ability to work with large datasets and develop data models to support business needs. • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to translate complex business problems into technical solutions. • A solid understanding of internal audit processes in banking or finance is a plus but not required. • Strong communication skills to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
