As a Backend Developer on the Service AI team, you’ll play a key role in creating tools that empower applied scientists to conduct statistical experiments and optimize workflows. Your expertise will ensure our codebase meets world-class production standards, while you collaborate with Machine Learning platform teams to train, deploy, and optimize large-scale AI models.

At Coveo, our Service AI team specializes in developing advanced machine learning and natural language processing technologies. These solutions enhance intelligent search and recommendations, focusing on areas like text classification, information retrieval, question-answering, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

Here is a glimpse at your responsibilities: 

• Being involved in every stage of the development lifecycle, from conception to coding, automated testing, and deployment.
• Supporting existing projects by enhancing the codebase and suggesting improvements to increase testability and efficiency.
• Defining improvement metrics and leading their successful implementation.
• Contributing to the team’s internal ML development community by enriching standard guidelines and fostering knowledge sharing.
• Applying critical thinking to challenge and influence architectural decisions to ensure scalability and reliability.

Here is what will qualify you for the role :

• You're a seasoned backend developer with experience in Python.
• You are well versed in producing reusable code & building robust and scalable systems, with a complex infrastructure and/or with a large user base.
• You possess a DevOps mindset, emphasizing collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement in all aspects of development and deployment.

What would make you stand out : 

• Experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and prior involvement in model development.
