Job Overview

SambaNova Systems is looking for talented and motivated engineers to help us solve some of the most challenging problems in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. As an ASIC Design Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to help build our cutting edge machine learning accelerator chips.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Define block-level architecture / microarchitecture
• Work with architects and software teams to develop new features and improve application performance
• Code, debug, integrate, and support RTL design throughout chip lifecycle
• Work with design verification team to converge design functionality and performance
• Work with the physical design team to converge frequency, area, and power.

Qualifications

• BS in EECS (or related discipline) with computer architecture or ASIC design focus. MS/PhD preferred.
• Solid understanding of all or several of the following domains
• Computer architecture, deep learning, microarchitecture/logic design, linear algebra
• Curriculum covers all or several of the following subjects
• Computer architecture, machine learning algorithms, VLSI, Digital Design, SoC
• Proficient with HDL languages such as SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL/Chisel
• Strong collaborator as we believe in no boundaries and collaboration across the entire organization with access to all levels and departments 
• Academic projects / internship experience on ASIC development preferred
• Demonstrated research experience with ML or hardware accelerators preferred

Annual Salary Range and Level

The base salary for this position ranges from $120,000/year up to $160,000/year. This range is based on role, level, and location and reflects the salary target for new hires in the US. Individual pay within the range will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s job-related qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
