Job Summary

The ASG Presales Solutions Engineer - Infrastructure will work as a customer facing data center infrastructure specialist. They will help uncover and develop opportunities when meeting with customers and account planning with sales teams. This position is a remote position that may be required to report to the Austin, TX office as required for business needs as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to: 

• Collaborates with account teams in understanding the maturity levels of customer data center environments through review and evaluation of Infrastructure technologies, consumption, implementations, and processes  
• Responsible for designing and proposing infrastructure solutions that meet customer's business objectives   
• Strengthen our technical relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), strategic and emerging partners to increase knowledge and be considered for beta programs to better serve our customers with best current product information   
• Conduct product training and positioning for the Sales team and customer  

Qualifications

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 
• 2+ years' experience working in complex Data Center technical presales opportunities 
• Advanced knowledge of servers, storage, virtualization technologies, hybrid cloud, converged infrastructure, and software-defined data centers regarding their impact on the business 
• Experience with Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and High Availability Solutions (backup/recovery, data protection, mirroring, active/standby, active/active, clustering) 
• Expertise in mainstream technologies to include: Dell Technologies, NetApp, HPE, Cisco, Pure Storage, Azure, AWS, Veeam, Nutanix  

Required Skills

• Ability to design data center infrastructures that include hybrid cloud, hyper converged, software-defined data center (SDDC), infrastructure/platform as a service, automation, containerization, and Data Center Management Platforms. 
• Strong knowledge of Virtualization technologies, Hypervisors, server virtualization, Software Defined Data Center, containerization, and automation  
• High capacity to understand complex technical and selling situations and the ability to solve the problem or solicit the required resources   
• Must be results driven with a strong sense of urgency  
• Attention to detail, organization, and follow up skills are critical   

Certifications Required

Preferred certifications in one or more of the following mainstream technologies: 

• Dell Technologies, Cisco, VMware, NetApp, Pure Storage, HPE, Azure, AWS, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam, Nutanix  

Unique Requirements

• Position requires percentage travel of 30% for customer meetings, internal meetings or engagements, conferences, and SHI Offices  

Additional Information

• The estimated annual pay range for this position is $120,000 - $230,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
