Statsig is seeking a talented and motivated Applied Data Scientist to join the Data team. This role bridges engineering and data science, collaborating closely with Statsig’s engineering and data teams and our customers to scale statistical analysis of experiments and metrics to hundreds of companies.

You will be responsible for implementing and validating novel analytical and statistical techniques, and identifying improvements in Statsig’s experimentation and analytics platforms. This critical role is responsible for keeping Statsig at the edge of modern data practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and Improve Experimentation Systems: Work across data and engineering code stacks to make critical data workflows run across Statsig’s internal compute platform as well as in customers’ warehouse native projects.

• Research Technologies: Keep up-to-date on what best-in-class in-house platforms are doing, as well as where the cutting-research is. Then, deliver that to Statsig’s customers.

• Product Leadership: Statsig is a data company; the data science team is the key voice in making the product work well for our customers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data science or machine learning

• 2+ years of experience in an engineering role

• Experience with running or analyzing product experiments

• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other data manipulation tools and techniques

• Comfortable working with back-end code and data systems - e.g. typescript, python, mongodb, and compute engines

• Passionate about building products

• Ability to work full-time from our Bellevue, WA office.
