About the Job:

We are seeking an AI Research Intern (NLP & LLM) to join our AI research team. In this role, you will participate in world-class research focusing on Intelligent Operations and Management of future Autonomous Telecommunication Networks. You will tackle challenging problems by applying cutting-edge AI technologies, such as Large Language Models (LLMs), within the telecommunications domain. Our AI research team works on production datasets in close collaboration with domain experts and software engineers.

Large Language Models (LLMs) have recently demonstrated remarkable potential as autonomous agents for decision-making tasks. Their adoption in the telecommunications domain is expected to help realize our vision of zero-touch autonomous networks.

As an AI Research Intern, you will join our NLP & LLM team and participate in organizing, analyzing, and processing large-scale corpora. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and researchers, learning and applying the latest techniques to enhance our corpus processing capabilities and model performance.

Responsibilities:

Identify the state-of-the-art AI technologies (especially in NLP/LLM) from both industry and academic literature to solve problems in Autonomous Telecommunication Networks. Emphasis is placed on LLM technologies for general question answering and reasoning/planning for network self-healing use cases.

Contribute to the rapid and iterative development of validated software prototypes based on AI technologies, and benchmark alternative solutions.

Work closely with domain experts, data engineers, and AI researchers. Collaborate with product development teams and business partners to productionize AI technologies, including providing source code and design documents.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Natural Language Processing. Exceptional Master's candidates will also be considered.
  • Hands-on or research experience with language models/large model technology, especially Large Language Models or NLP-related technologies.
  • Experience with building deep neural networks.
  • Strong background in mathematics and statistics.
  • Proficient programming skills in Python.
  • Practical experience with machine learning frameworks, such as Scikit-Learn and PyTorch.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and demonstrated capability to develop new algorithms and methodologies from leading open-source initiatives and research papers.
  • Domain knowledge of telecommunication networks is a significant plus.
  • A publication track record in machine learning and computer science conferences and journals, such as ICML, ECML, NeurIPS, AAAI, IJCAI, or IJCNN, is highly desirable.
