The Role: The AI Sales Specialist supports new sales, revenue growth and retention for S&P Global Commodity Insights AI Ready Data by ensuring a positive client experience throughout the entire sales cycle, effective implementation post sale and seamless hand-off to S&P Commodity Insights Support Team during the customer journey of engaging with S&P Global Commodity Insights AI Ready Data Product.
This job is perfect for an individual keen to work in sales and specialize in our suite of Machine-to-Machine suite of S&P Global Commodity Insights products. The successful candidate will be expected to use the product expertise to facilitate success of existing sales opportunities and use their understanding of the technology and data landscape to generate new business strategies and opportunities within Machine-to-Machine product space. Input into marketing, sales campaigns, new business opportunities, managing relationships with assigned accounts as well as key internal stakeholder groups within S&P Global Commodity Insights are also essential.
The Team: This role includes a training program at the start about S&P Global Machine Delivery offering, working with our Digital Product Management team. After 6 month you will be fully integrated into S&P Global Commodity Insights Commercial team and focus on opportunity nurturing, client/prospect engagement, closing sales and revenue growth. Being in the S&P Global Commodity Insights Commercial team the compensation structure is presented in a commission-based approach.
In your first months, working with the team of the S&P Global Commodity Insights Digital Platform and Machine Delivery, coupled in working together with the individual business lines, you will focus on learning about S&P Global Machine Delivery offering and client requirements that shaped it. You will get familiar with the internal processes and groups relevant to your role. You will be invited to participate in pre-sales discussions and contribute to sales, post-sale product implementation and overall client adoption of the S&P Global Commodity Insights Machine to Machine Delivery offerings. The rapidly evolving Machine Delivery business includes APIs for raw data delivery, streaming functions for real time data, and bulk delivery (FTP) for voluminous requests.
The transitioning into the AI Sales Specialist Team as part of S&P Global Commodity Insights Commercial where you spend approximately 60% of your time closely collaborating with sales to qualify leads, understanding the needs of prospective clients, showcasing machine delivery solutions, assessing additional sales opportunities, and helping drive client adoption rate. The remaining 40% of the time will be spent on furthering the knowledge of Machine Delivery offering, understanding the status quo of Machine Delivery Product roll outs, generate campaigns, build sales strategies together with the sales teams and generate relevant reports.

Strategic responsibilities:
Act as a commercial Technology and Product expert for S&P Global Commodity Insights Machine delivery (FTP, API, and Streaming solutions) and AI Ready Data Product, collaborate closely with sales colleagues on closing existing opportunities, nurturing business growth, and building up clients’ understanding of S&P Global Commodity Insights data and its value.
Consult and deploy Machine Delivery solutions to clients ensuring that S&P Global Commodity Insights software/access is configured to function within external environments bringing together internal product build teams as needed for effective support,
Proactively expand the use of S&P Global Commodity Insights solutions to all the relevant departments within existing accounts. Gather intelligence and communicate internally to identify opportunities to contribute to revenue retention and growth group targets.
Be seen as a highly respected expert by clients and be the reliable source of information regarding the available S&P Global Commodity Insights solutions, the solution in development and how these solutions fit clients’ needs.
Work with Sales to structure sales opportunities, guide sales colleagues with subject-matter-expertise in presenting the most applicable business solutions, qualify leads and understand the needs of prospective clients.
Influence internal product planning with real-life client examples, aggregated feedback and requirements. Participate in the roadmap definition and evolution of Machine Delivery solutions.
Be a valued effective partner to S&P Global Commodity Insights Client Services and Customer Support groups in tacking complex client cases.
Build long-lasting relationships and trust with clients and developer community to understand, define and relay evolving commodity market requirements to the relevant internal product groups.
Maintain perfect awareness of current S&P Global Commodity Insights offering landscape and upcoming releases.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain Commercial product expertise in S&P Global Commodity Insights Machine to Machine suite of offerings.
Have detailed understanding and thought-through perspective of how S&P Global Commodity Insights delivery mechanisms integrate into clients’ internal systems as well as 3rd party software used by clients.
Communicate data and technology solutions in a clear accessible manner.
Possess working knowledge of retrieving, manipulating and visualizing S&P Global Commodity Insights data via Tableau, Power BI and Python.
Proactively gather and share client feedback in respect to S&P Global Commodity Insights and competitive offerings.
Acquire knowledge and keep accessible records of customer technology stacks, workflows, and internal structures.
Collate and maintain a library of code templates and practical application examples.
Present success stories to sales on a recurring basis and leverage one’s expertise in guiding sales colleagues towards replicating positive outcomes.
Manage sales pipeline and accurate records of all client engagements in Salesforce.com supported with detailed notes and outcomes.
Evangelize simplification agenda by writing accessible client implementation stories and novice compatible client on-boarding documentation for S&P Global Commodity Insights internal consumption.
Report to your local Datafeed Sales Specialist Manager.
Hitting or exceeding SMART goal measurements, (# new AI Ready Data clients onboarded, # of meetings (externally/internally), # of presentations to customers, # of campaigns.
Core Qualifications:
3-5 years client facing FinTech industry experience in product, solution sales or a relevant customer support role.
Knowledge of data delivery technology landscape including RESTful API, SOAP API and Cloud offerings (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Data Exchange)
Experience in using Salesforce.com to manage client records, sales pipeline and input client leads.
Experience in data visualization via Tableau or Power BI (Preferred)
Experience in data retrieval, data manipulation and visualization via Python is highly desirable.
Working knowledge of commodity derivatives trading and resulting client data delivery expectations.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in technical or science major.
Experience with both Agile and Lean methodologies.
Entrepreneurial spirit, commercial awareness, ability to work as a part of a team in a matrix organization .
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
