What’s the role?
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Product Manager is accountable for the value delivery of AI and data analytics products to the business in order to maximize/optimize profits.
You will set the product vision, bring forward the best AI / Analytics technology/solutions to solve business problems (e.g. technology and innovation funnels), cocreate the product roadmap and success metrics, fulfill the product lifecycle within Enterprise compliance and controls framework, create value delivery through product development, perform financial management, and set the right product environment and mindset for the product team.
Your accountabilities as the AI Product Manager will also include:
- Develop and execute product strategies that leverage Gen AI and machine learning to solve business problems (e.g. Gen AI for data discoverability, facilitate business decisions, identify causal effect of price fluctuations etc.)
- Drive the proof of concept and obtain buy-in from stakeholders for implementation at scale, overseeing the entire product lifecycle from cradle to grave
- Builds lead, and inspire a team to deliver the Product Roadmap against the prevailing lifecycle, sourcing capability from across the organization. Focus actions against product attributes of desirability, feasibility, and viability
- Own the budget, scope, resources and timeline of deliverables
- Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and industry/market curiosity
- Frame what success looks like and ensure the Product team understand and apply Product success metrics to their work
- Champion preferred ways of working into the Product team, ensuring best use of agreed agile and DevOps approaches, methods, and frameworks – driving alignment with cross-functional natural team
- Seek user value and understands how to translate this into commercial value for Shell across the Product lifecycle. Use data-driven insights to drive product improvements.
What we need from you
We are keen to hear from candidates with proven track record in full product lifecycle management of AI, data and analytics products, and the use of commercial/user insights to help propel the Product Vision, Discovery, Operating Model, Lifecycle, and Roadmap.
Furthermore, we hope to see the following:
- 5 years of track record in delivering AI products from concept to launch with proven business impact (Power/Gas Trading background is an advantage)
- Good understanding of digital capabilities and the value they can deliver.
- Strong business / commercial acumen in developing business cases and managing investment budgets
- Ability to pitch value propositions, influence the business to adopt such solutions and measure success.
- Out of the box thinking / innate curiosity about consumer problems and ways of resolving them through AI/ digital approach
- Background in managing backlog, developing user stories and estimating story points.
- Practical experience of working in and with techniques such as Agile, Scrum, Lean Start-up or Design Thinking and in creation of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) Propositions
- Proven ability to master the complexity of interactions, demonstrating strong communication skills, among IT, digital and business stakeholders
