Your Role

  • Developing advanced machine learning algorithms for automotive exterior sensing from early prototype to platform integration ready.
  • Relevant algorithmic problems include object detection and tracking, classification, segmentation, SLAM & structure-from-motion, Kalman filtering, & 3D reconstruction.
  • Writing high quality, tested and efficient software in Python/Rust for our AI/ML SW Stack
  • Defining continuously improving machine learning workflows based on best practices in the industry and establishing it within the team
  • Filing patent applications to strengthen the Aptiv IP footprint
  • Working in an Agile SW development team (SCRUM)
  • Work closely with Architects and Developers to concept and design auto scaling solutions across the world.
  • Be part of Development and Operations and help building and enhancing a new groundbreaking CI/CD platform hosted in multiple clouds.                 
  • Participate in technical discussions with our Agile team.
  • Follow coding standards and guidelines in SW development process
  • Debugging, Troubleshooting and fixing bugs.

Your Background

Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your:

  • Master's degree 5+ years of relevant experience or PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related field
  • Hands-on experience building 2D or 3D object detection and/or tracking models
  • Strong software development skills in Python. You have a passion for clean, well-tested, and documented code. Knowledge in Rust is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of artificial intelligence, model building and evaluation
  • Expert knowledge in at least one common ML framework ( PyTorch, Tensorflow …)
  • Practical experience with Docker, version control systems (Git), and code review tools (Gerrit, Gitlab, Bitbucket).
  • Self-reliant way of working and passion for learning about new technologies.
  • Fluent in English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills & good interpersonal skills
