WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You will join our Data Ethics team, which defines, enables, and governs the practice of ethical collection, storage, and use of data and responsible AI across Maersk. The team implements the Maersk Data Ethics Policy by overseeing and rolling out our Data Ethics program and ensure our platforms, data products and AI solutions protect and respect our partners and employees’ data. Additionally, you will join a virtual team in driving data excellence across Maersk by taking ownership of managing cross-functional initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

We offer a role with plenty of opportunity to perform and grow:

  • Define, implement & ongoing oversight of policies and procedures related to AI governance, data ethics and compliance to ensure Maersk stays ahead in Data Ethics.
  • Facilitate the prioritization of the data governance portfolio, maximizing impact through risk-based approach.
  • Implement best practices by facilitating communication and ensuring alignment with internal policies, principles, and governance.
  • Define the approach to risk assessments of AI systems to identify potential biases and unintended consequences & ethical implications.
  • Ensure the compliant and ethical use of data in AI systems including protecting confidential data
  • Stay informed about global AI regulations, disseminate key development to the Maersk community and executive leadership.
  • Translate regulation into actionable product features, which can be reused by platform teams.
  • Champion the ethical development and implementation of AI models, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Advise on the ethical implications of AI-related decisions and guide decision-makers.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance compliance measures and incorporate ESG principles into AI product strategies.
  • Lead the response to audits or inquiries related to Data, AI compliance, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure AI, Data projects align with the organization's overall data strategy and governance framework.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and awareness around AI regulations and compliance within the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

To succeed in this role, we expect you to bring:

  • Substantial experience in data roles with a focus on Applied AI and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in data/technology functions with data ethics, data privacy.
  • Ability to manage and execute independently and with minimal supervision
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering AI products while adhering to regulatory standards.
  • In-depth understanding of AI regulations and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into product features.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey AI concepts and regulatory implications to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High personal agility and ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Growing ability to comfortably shift between strategic thinking and execution, and easily connect the two
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
  • Curiosity to learn about the Global Data & Analytics team and data technology concepts, maintaining an extensive network with up-to-date knowledge of what has mainstream/enterprise relevance to Maersk
  • High ambitions and a strong appetite for personal development to make the most of this excellent career opportunity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong interest in politics and legislation within data and AI
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks
  • Exposure to law practices
