Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Digital Technology Accelerator team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as an AI Cloud Engineer. The position can be filled part-time (at least 30 hours / week).

Our self-organised Digital Technology Accelerator team designs and develops pilot solutions in the areas of artificial intelligence, robotic process automation and digital transformation. Our aim is to deeply integrate AI into our company's systems, processes and culture. We have already implemented several prototype use cases, particularly in the area of natural language processing (NLP). We are looking for you to develop these into productive services. In a highly varied environment, you will work closely with software developers and users and realise all steps from concept to implementation of digital solutions for the entire Hannover Re Group.

You can look forward to

• We operate a development environment (Posit) for data scientists. You will support us in the operation and further development of this platform as a co-product owner and system engineer
• We have developed prototypes based on large language models. You take the next step with us and we bring them into production together

You come equipped with

• You have studied (business) computer science with a specialisation in data science or something comparable.
• You have several years of experience in the development and operation of software and platforms in the cloud environment, in particular Microsoft Azure and AWS.  
• You are also familiar with container applications (Docker, Kubernetes).  
• You have practical experience in technologies such as Machine Learning, Generative A.I. or Natural Language Processing as well as relevant knowledge of programming languages such as Python.
• Ideally, you have already gained experience with the business processes at an insurer, reinsurer or financial services provider
• You speak German at a conversational level and English at a business fluent level
