Xona is launching a network of navigation satellites to enable precision technologies like robotic farming and hands-free driving to globally scale. More and more industries are moving towards automation to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. In order to operate safely these technologies need far higher precision and reliability than GPS can provide, and they need it to be accessible and affordable. Xona’s patented PULSAR network takes all the complexity needed to achieve robust centimeter-level accuracy and moves it to the satellites, unlocking trusted precision guidance for even consumer grade devices, anywhere on Earth.  

Xona is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Assembly Integration & Test (AI&T) Engineer who will be responsible for building and leading a world class test team to execute any and all testing required for Xona’s Pulsar satellite constellation. You’ll have full ownership over building out production capabilities and ensuring the efficient delivery of Xona payloads through V&V. Additionally, you will provide strategic oversight for integration planning and operations of Xona’s production floor. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent) and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to safety and quality standards
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and attention to detail
  • Experience with thermal, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC, and acoustic testing
  • Proficient in writing test plans, procedures, and analyzing test data
  • Ability to develop processes, test assets, and tooling for new and existing hardware
  • Contribute to design reviews and offer input on testability and supply chain
  • Ability to support testing during critical campaigns, including travel and 24/7 availability
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and providing feedback to the Engineering design team
  • Familiarity working within a structured Quality Management system, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
  • Thorough understanding of and experience applying Lean Manufacturing fundamentals
  • Understands Process Capability, Process Variance and experienced with the six sigma tools and where/how to apply for maximum effectiveness.
  • Experience applying various levels of automation within a digital factory framework
  • Direct management experience of engineers, specialists, and/or technicians.
  • Experience with space flight components and spacecraft environmental testing
