Job Summary

The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the physical security functions of the organization, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, property, and assets. This role involves supervising a team of security officers and coordinating security measures related to personnel and vehicle access, loss prevention, and security inspections. The Security Supervisor ensures compliance with established procedures and maintains the effectiveness of security systems and protocols. The position requires a strong understanding of security methods, systems, and the ability to manage complex security situations. The supervisor also handles administrative duties related to security operations and ensures a fully staffed security force is available 24/7.

Please note: This position is contingent upon award.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of at least six (6) security officers, including one (1) security supervisor, ensuring that a full-time, 24/7 unarmed security force is present on-site.

  • Monitor and manage the flow of personnel and vehicular traffic, ensuring that all access points are secure and controlled.

  • Oversee the administration of personnel and visitor security clearances and ensure proper access to restricted areas.

  • Conduct security inspections and manage loss prevention and detection services.

  • Write, review, and implement security instructions and procedures, ensuring all security functions are aligned with organizational needs.

  • Provide direct supervision to security officers, ensuring adherence to security policies, and handling complex security issues.

  • Maintain and monitor security systems and equipment, always ensuring functionality and effective operation.

  • Conduct training and provide guidance to security personnel on the latest security procedures and regulations.

  • Ensure the team is uniformed and properly distinguished as security officers to maintain visibility and authority.

  • Report on security-related incidents, provide recommendations for improvements, and ensure timely follow-ups on action plans.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen with at least a secret or interim secret security clearance.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in security.

  • At least 21 years of age, fluent in written and spoken English, and physically fit to perform assigned duties.

  • Experience in writing security instructions and directing security operations.

  • Ability to manage and oversee a 24/7 security force

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in physical security management within restricted or controlled areas.

  • Knowledge of advanced security systems and apparatuses, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain them.
