Operating in 40+ countries, offering numerous tax refund services and growing for more than 40 years makes Global Blue’s systems a complex landscape. We, the Data & Analytics Team, serve internal and external stakeholders and clients and are responsible for the development and maintenance of the central Data domain, are seeking for an innovative and highly skilled AI Application Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered applications and solutions that address real-world problems. This role combines expertise in software engineering, machine learning, and data analysis to create impactful and scalable AI-driven technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• AI Application Development:
  • Design and implement AI models and algorithms tailored to specific business requirements.
  • Develop and integrate AI components into applications using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
• Data Processing and Analysis:
  • Gather, clean, and preprocess data for training AI models.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns and insights.
• System Integration:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing software and systems.
  • Optimize AI solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Prototyping and Deployment:
  • Build prototypes to demonstrate AI capabilities and potential applications.
  • Deploy AI solutions in cloud environments or on-premises systems.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and software engineers to align AI projects with organizational goals.
  • Present technical findings and project progress to stakeholders.
• Research and Development:
  • Stay up to date with advancements in AI and machine learning.
  • Experiment with cutting-edge AI techniques and tools to improve existing systems.
• Testing and Maintenance:
  • Develop robust testing protocols to ensure AI models perform as expected.
  • Monitor deployed AI applications, address bugs, and improve functionality over time.

REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills

• Degree in Computer Science or comparable working experience
• Min. 5 years of relevant working experience
• Strong proficiency in Python and related data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn)
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for model training and deployment
• Familiarity with data pipelines and data engineering principles
• Good understanding of software development practices, debugging, unit/integration testing, behavioural testing, version control (GIT), and ALM tools (JIRA)

AI Concepts

• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering)
• Knowledge of neural networks, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs)
• Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision techniques

Personal competencies

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong communication skills in English (fluent both written and spoken)
• Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to analyse complex data and identify appropriate AI solutions
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Adaptability to stay current with the rapidly evolving field of AI
• Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong sense of ownership
• Experience with Agile methodologies
