Job Description

The AI Application Engineer is responsible for researching and developing new AI technologies, models, and systems that support the company’s strategic goals. This role requires a deep understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and other AI disciplines. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to develop AI-powered solutions and integrate them into various products and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct research and development on Generative AI 

  • Develop AI-driven applications to enhance productivity

  • Enhance customer experience through AI solutions

  • Apply AI technologies to optimize telecom network operations

  • Collaborate with business units to tailor AI solutions

  • Stay at the forefront of AI advancements

  • Prototype and test AI models for real-world applications

  • Ensure scalability and performance of AI models

  • Collaborate on AI projects with external partners

  • Contribute to AI democratization and internal knowledge sharing

KPIs:

  • R&D Output and Innovation: The contribution to AI innovation by the number of prototypes developed, and proof-of-concepts (POCs) completed.

  • Successful Deployment of AI Solutions: The number of AI-powered solutions, particularly Generative AI and productivity-enhancing applications, successfully deployed in production environments.

  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Participation in cross-functional teams and contribution to knowledge sharing initiatives, such as internal AI toolkits, training sessions, or the AI democratization program.

  • Impact on Customer Experience: The performance and customer satisfaction improvements driven by AI applications.

  • Productivity Improvements: The percentage increase in organizational productivity or efficiency resulting from AI-driven automations and process optimizations.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML, with a focus on developing models and solutions for productivity, customer experience, and/or telecom networks.

SKILLS:

Soft: 

  • Problem-solving and Analytical Thinking: Ability to tackle complex problems and create innovative solutions using AI techniques.

  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with stakeholders from different areas (e.g., product, engineering, and operations).

  • Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and create clear documentation of AI models and solutions.

  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Willingness to keep up with the latest AI research and quickly adapt to new tools, models, and methodologies.

Hard: 

  • AI/ML Expertise: Proficiency in machine learning algorithms, neural networks, natural language processing, and computer vision. Experience with GenAI models is a plus.

  • Programming Languages: Expertise in Python, R, and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.

  • Data Engineering and Analytics: Experience with data processing, feature engineering, and working with large datasets in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP).

  • AI System Integration: Familiarity with integrating AI models into production systems, including API development and system architecture.

  • Telecom Network Knowledge: Understanding of telecom network technologies and how AI can be applied to optimize networks, particularly for predictive maintenance and traffic management.

  • AI/ML Certifications/Licenses is not mandatory, but is a plus
