AI and Privacy Legal Counsel
Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lawyer with expertise in AI, privacy and technology regulations to support projects of vital importance for Amadeus aimed at ensuring compliance with new artificial intelligence laws as well as with existing privacy and technology laws. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring our compliance with complex and evolving technological regulations across the globe. The position will be instrumental in supporting our initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Key contributor to EU AI Act compliance program, working with a high level of autonomy and collaborating across teams to ensure the successful implementation of legal requirements. Provide strategic and actionable legal advice to management regarding AI compliance, and EU AI Act. Assess complex AI-related challenges and risks, recommending practical solutions and mitigation strategies. Work closely with internal stakeholders, including product teams, data scientists, and engineers, to provide practical legal advice on AI Act compliance;
- Assessing the legal and contractual frameworks to ensure the company’s projects align with privacy and AI compliance requirements. Supporting transversal teams on commercial negotiations with customers, vendors and partners in relation to AI and privacy matters, coordinating with Amadeus' R&D, security, data governance and compliance teams;
- Identifying and assessing legal and compliance risks associated with global AI and privacy regulations and supporting strategies to mitigate these risks. Provision of expert legal advice and guidance to the technical teams and management on interpretation of these regulations. Translation of legal requirements into technical requirements and their integration into daily operations through policies and processes. Staying updated on changes to regulations in these areas and ensuring that the organization adapts accordingly;
- Supporting the design and delivery of training programs to educate stakeholders about the AI and privacy regulations, ensuring the required level of understanding.
About the Ideal Candidate
- University Degree in Law, Legal Qualification to practice as a lawyer. AI and/or privacy certification is a plus (AIGP, CIPP/E or DPO Certification);
- Relevant work experience: Substantial experience with AI regulations. Privacy experience obtained from a reputable law firm and/or in-house in a multinational company with a focus on regulatory compliance and/or at a regulator. Demonstrated ability to understand complex technical issues related to AI, machine learning, and data processing;
- Experience in the information technology industry, with a focus on artificial intelligence and privacy. Ability to plan and implement changes impacting the business as a result of emerging artificial intelligence, privacy and technology regulation. Proficient in advising cross-functional teams on how legal frameworks apply to technical developments. Experience in the travel and/or programmatic advertising sectors is a plus;
- Languages: English (excellent verbal and written legal drafting skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and actionable manner for both legal and non-legal audiences).Working knowledge of Spanish a plus;
- Expertise in EU artificial intelligence laws and privacy regulations. Familiarity with programmatic advertising is a plus;
- Attention to detail. Ability to work independently and with large multi-stakeholder teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience assessing complex legal challenges, proposing solutions, and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
