Cboe interns work with a variety of staff across multiple departments and have the opportunity to put their skills to work in their field of interest, while learning about Exchange technology and operations through our robust Options Institute courses.

The three main foundational pillars of our internship program are: develop, educate and network. We want to ensure each of our interns receive a real-world working experience that encourages academic, professional and personal growth.

Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our interns will have the flexibility of working 2 days remotely, and 3 days in office per week at one of our state-of-the-art offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and New York City. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place. The Data and Analytics team is hiring for an AI Analyst intern.

The AI Analyst Intern will work in Cboe’s AI Center of Excellence to help build and maintain a leading-edge generative AI platform. The AI Analyst Intern will assist in designing the cognitive architecture for AI-driven applications, expanding the scope of Cboe’s AI Platform, and maintaining existing tools. Additionally, the AI Analyst will create and facilitate end-user education sessions focused on effective AI use.

The world of AI is constantly changing. The AI Analyst intern should be prepared and excited to think in a cross-disciplinary way about the design, implementation, and monitoring of AI systems. Applicants from outside STEM disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Your responsibilities and learning objectives will be:

  • Build and deploy generative AI-driven applications.
  • Support and improve Cboe’s AI Platform.
  • Learn best practices for deploying AI at the enterprise level.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to conduct learning sessions on AI best practices.
  • Design and implement benchmarking strategies for existing AI tools.
  • Develop a nuanced understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of generative AI models.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Must be either:
    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Statistics, or Machine Learning.
    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in another discipline with demonstrated experience (personal or professional) building generative AI applications.
  • Expected graduation within 1 year following internship (Summer 2026)
  • Proficiency in python.
  • Understanding of prompting best practices.
  • Knowledge of current AI landscape.
  • Willingness to think creatively to explore potential use cases.

You’ll really stand out with:

  • Demonstrated experience using cloud computing services.
  • Experience with vector databases, text embeddings, and/or agent-based AI tools.
  • Proficiency using SQL.
