The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Research and Development Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.
The Future Talent Program within the Research and Development Divison Data, AI, and Genome Sciences (DAGS) Department is offering internships that last 10-12 weeks. There are two open positions in the AI/ML group. Candidates can apply for the opportunity to be involved in a project designed to enable students to further develop their skills and to evaluate if we are the right company for their long-term goals. We are seeking highly motivated and talented students with computational skills in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
AI/ML (2 position, Cambridge, MA, in person strongly preferred) Some potential projects could include:
Implement latest published methods and/or develop new methods for fine-tuning foundation models.
Implement or develop new methods for probing trained (pre-trained or fine-tuned) foundation models for learned biology.
Develop methods and techniques to enable harmonization of metadata.
Develop a pipeline to produce automatic quality control scores for RNA-sequencing data. This pipeline should include a broad range of different metrics at various steps in the data processing pipeline
Review causal reasoning methods from the literature implement promising methods on a PPI network and develop a validation pipeline to test their performance.
Review and benchmark scRNA-seq batch correction methods. The aim is to understand which methods are particularly effective at smoothing technical noise from 100s of datasets.
Required Education and Skills:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a minimum of a Bachelor's degree program in Computer sciences, Statistics, Bio-statistics or a related field of study. Students enrolled in graduate programs (MS or PhD) will be given preference.
Candidates must be available to work full-time for 10-12 weeks in 2025.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Candidates must have experience with Python or R programming languages, experience with analysis of single-cell RNA-seq datasets will be beneficial.
Candidates must have demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to work well in a collaborative team environment.
Candidates must have excellent academic achievement and analytical ability.
Candidates must have experience with modern deep learning tooling including PyTorch and / or JAX.
Experience with GPUs is strongly preferred.
Experience with cloud computing, AWS, and command line terminal.
Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected salary range:
$39,600.00-$105,500.00
