Overview - What Will the Internships Involve? Pragmatic Semiconductor is delighted to offer several internship opportunities for the summer of 2025. We welcome applications from talented, positive individuals to join us. These paid internships will last approximately 12 weeks (starting in late June, early July) and provide excellent practical experience within a fast-paced, growing company. This internship will be based in Cambridge within our R&D Team.  We have a strong track record of hosting successful interns, with a high percentage subsequently joining us permanently after completing their studies. Interns will benefit from the support of a dedicated line manager and will work both within their teams and cross-functionally to support the company’s objectives.

What Are We Looking For? The R&D team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of edge computing to create smarter, more efficient systems.  We are seeking a motivated and talented Research Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on ground-breaking projects that integrate AI with flexible electronics in various applications for the edge.

Key tasks

  • Design, implement, and verify custom computational units in RTL that execute AI workloads, which can later be deployed on flexible devices.
  • Conduct research on AI algorithms and their applications in edge computing environments.
  • Analyse and optimize the performance of various AI techniques on edge hardware.
  • Document research findings and present them to the team.


What will you be studying now? Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  
What would make you stand out from the crowd?  

  • Strong understanding of digital logic design.
  • Experience in Verilog/System Verilog.
  • Experience working with the RISC-V ISA or other instruction sets.
  • Understanding of Machine Learning and AI principles.
  • Familiarity with edge computing concepts and technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
